Tulane men’s basketball players Rowan Brumbaugh and Asher Woods received postseason awards from the American Athletic Conference, according to a March 10 announcement by the league office.
The recognition highlights the achievements of both athletes during the regular season. Brumbaugh was named to the Second Team All-Conference, while Woods earned the Amir Abdur-Rahim Sportsmanship Award.
Brumbaugh, a redshirt junior, led Tulane in points, rebounds, assists, and steals per game. He averaged 18.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.6 steals throughout the season. In conference play, he maintained an average of 18.4 points per game on nearly 45 percent shooting and posted double-digit scoring in all but one conference matchup. His season included nine games with at least 20 points and three games with more than 30 points scored.
Woods was recognized for his sportsmanship as well as his performance on the court. The junior guard averaged 12.9 points per game along with contributions in rebounds, assists, and steals. He also led Tulane in free throw percentage at nearly 84 percent—ranking sixth in the conference—and recorded double-digit scoring in twenty games this season.
Off the court, Woods has been active in community service both in Atlanta and New Orleans by coaching youth basketball teams and volunteering at a cancer facility.
The awards reflect both athletic achievement and character among Tulane’s backcourt leaders as they conclude their regular season.
