The City of New Orleans announced on April 7 that the Central Business District Historic District Landmarks Commission (CBD HDLC) meeting scheduled for April 8, 2026 has been cancelled due to a lack of quorum. Agenda items originally planned for this meeting will be moved to the next scheduled session on May 6, 2026.

The cancellation affects those who were planning to attend or participate in the CBD HDLC proceedings. The commission plays a role in reviewing and making decisions about historic preservation and development within the Central Business District.

Despite the cancellation of the CBD HDLC meeting, city officials said that “the April 8, 2026 New Orleans HDLC meeting will proceed as scheduled at 1:00 p.m. in the City Council chamber.” This means that other matters under consideration by the broader Historic District Landmarks Commission will still be addressed.

Information about city laws and ordinances, including those governing boards and commissions such as the HDLC, is available through various resources provided by New Orleans government offices. Residents can also access local government information or submit non-emergency service requests via NOLA-311 online or by phone.

Looking ahead, agenda items from the cancelled CBD HDLC session are set to be discussed at their next regular meeting in May.
