The Charlotte women’s tennis team defeated Tulane 4-0 on Apr. 17 in the quarterfinals of the 2026 American Conference Championship, held at Rice University’s George R. Brown Tennis Center in Houston.
This result ends Tulane’s season with an overall record of 11-12, while Charlotte advances to the semifinals with a record of 22-3.
Charlotte secured the doubles point by winning matches at both No. 1 and No. 2 positions. In singles play, victories at Nos. 3, 5, and 6 clinched the match for Charlotte before several other matches could be completed. Notably, Tulane’s Summer Chandler was close to winning her match at No. 2 singles when play was stopped due to Charlotte’s clinching win.
Tulane had reached Friday’s round after defeating UTSA earlier in the tournament by a score of 4-1.
The conclusion of this match marks the end of competition for Tulane this season.
