Valeria Colon and Juanelyz Solla represented Puerto Rico at the 14th International Friendship Youth Bowling Championship in Doha, Qatar. The event, organized by the Qatar Bowling Federation, ran from February 11 to February 14 and included participants from 13 nations. Colon and Solla are members of the Tulane Green Wave bowling team, currently ranked No. 17.

During the competition’s doubles event, Colon teamed up with Stephanie Rivera to secure a bronze medal after scoring a combined total of 2,533 pins. They finished just behind Singapore’s gold-medal-winning team, who scored 2,595 pins.

Colon’s performance in the doubles allowed her to advance to the masters round on Saturday. She was among 20 bowlers to reach this stage and ended with a pin total of 3,092—an average of 206.13 per game—which placed her ninth overall. Although she did not make it into the top eight for stage two of the masters round, her result marked a top-10 finish.

After their participation in Qatar, Colon and Solla will return to compete with Tulane at the TNBA Open in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This tournament is hosted by The National Bowling Association and will take place from February 27 through March 1.
