Congressman Troy A. Carter, who represents Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on November 12, 2025, addressing national policy priorities, commemorating an historic anniversary for a sorority, and highlighting the role of labor unions in American society.
In a post dated November 12, 2025, Carter referenced public opinion on government priorities: “Did you know that 80 percent of voters, including 82 percent of swing voters, believe the Trump administration should prioritize domestic issues over the Argentina bailout? The American people are focused on the issues that affect their everyday lives like affordable health care”.
Later that day, Carter marked a milestone for Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority with a congratulatory message: “Happy Founders’ Day to the women of @SGRho, especially to my colleague and dear friend @RepRobinKelly! Here’s to 103 years of sisterhood, scholarship, and service.”

Troy Carter has served as Louisiana’s representative in Congress since replacing Cedric Richmond in 2021. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he was a member of both the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1992 to 1994 and the Louisiana Senate from 2016 to 2021. Born in New Orleans in 1963 and currently residing there at age 59, Carter graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a Bachelor’s degree in 1986.
