Congressman Troy A. Carter, who represents Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to highlight education, workforce development, and community accountability.
On January 14, 2026, Carter posted: “Every child deserves access to a high-quality public education, and every worker deserves access to innovative training throughout their career. We just released an agenda to empower our workforce and prepare America for a rapidly changing economy. @NewDemCoalition

Later that day, Carter addressed concerns about community safety and leadership accountability in another post: “Renee Good was a wife, a mother, and a U.S. citizen who stood up against injustice. Carter has served in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Cedric Richmond. He previously served in both chambers of the Louisiana legislature—first in the House of Representatives from 1992 to 1994 and then in the Senate from 2016 to 2021. Born in New Orleans in 1963, Carter continues to reside there today. He is an alumnus of Xavier University of Louisiana.
