Congressman Troy A. Carter, who represents Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of messages on his official Twitter account reflecting on historical milestones, current events, and religious observances.
On April 2, 2026, Carter highlighted the anniversary of Jeannette Rankin’s election to Congress. He wrote: “On this day in 1916, Jeannette Rankin became the first woman elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. During her time in Congress, she introduced legislation that would become the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote. Now, with legislation like the SAVE America https://t.co/xX4bZjeB4X”.
Later that same day, Carter commented on recent developments involving Pam Bondi: “Pam Bondi has been fired and it’s about damn time. Accountability matters, and justice will prevail.
Now release the Epstein files. https://t.co/q5N7K5ffgP”.
On April 3, 2026, he acknowledged Good Friday with a message for those observing the holiday: “Today, we pause to reflect on the true meaning of sacrifice and renewal that Good Friday represents. To all those honoring this holy day, I wish you a peaceful and reflective holiday. May God bless you all. https://t.co/HByr9nBA4G”.
Carter has served in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Cedric Richmond and currently resides in New Orleans. He previously held positions in both chambers of Louisiana’s state legislature before his election to Congress and graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree.
