Congressman Troy A. Carter, representing Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently expressed his views on social media regarding significant issues affecting healthcare and veterans, as well as paying tribute to a notable figure from Louisiana’s history.

On March 10, 2025, Congressman Carter highlighted the potential impact of Medicaid cuts on various demographics. He stated: “Think Medicaid cuts won’t impact you or your family? Think again. 41% of births 63% of nursing home residents 39% of children 41% of adults with disabilities Millions rely on Medicaid—cuts would be devastating. #ProtectMedicaid #HealthcareForAll”.

In another post made on the same day, Carter criticized Elon Musk and Donald Trump for their alleged plans concerning Veterans Affairs employees. He remarked: “Musk and Trump don’t care about our veterans. If they did, they wouldn’t be planning to fire over 80,000 VA employees this year. This is a slap in the face to the people who have sacrificed for our country.”

Later that evening, Congressman Carter paid homage to Alice Foster, former First Lady of Louisiana. He wrote: “Former First Lady of Louisiana, Alice Foster, was a remarkable woman who served our state with strength, grace, and dedication. She supported causes like the Governor’s Mansion Foundation and Keep Louisiana Beautiful…”
