Congressman Troy A. Carter, who represents Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media addressing recent military actions and commemorating fraternity history.

On January 3, 2026, Carter criticized former President Donald Trump’s military operations against Venezuela. He stated: “Trump’s military actions against Venezuela last night were unconstitutional. Period. This was reckless and risked American lives with no plan for the aftermath. I voted for a war powers resolution to end hostilities against Venezuela without congressional authorization, which https://t.co/HZqKIfRw4k”. The same day, he shared an additional message: “Full statement: https://t.co/bj2UU1Wxlv”.
