Congressman Troy A. Carter, who represents Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted several updates on his social media account on May 20, 2026.

Later that day, at 9:02 p.m., Carter commented on discussions regarding compensation for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) workers during a Homeland Security Committee hearing. He wrote, “Today in our @HomelandDems hearing, my Republican colleagues spoke highly of our TSA workers and said they should be paid more. But when they had the opportunity to vote for it, they said no. During Trump’s DHS shutdown, TSA workers went over a month without pay. Now, the Trump”.
At 10:00 p.m., Carter reflected on the career of former Congressman Barney Frank. He stated, “Former Congressman Barney Frank was a trailblazer and dedicated public servant who spent over three decades serving and advocating for the people of Massachusetts. Rep. Carter has represented Louisiana’s 2nd District since 2021 after succeeding Cedric Richmond and previously served in both chambers of the Louisiana state legislature. Born in New Orleans in 1963 and an alumnus of Xavier University of Louisiana, he continues to reside in New Orleans while serving in Congress.
