Congressman Troy A. Carter, representing Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, shared updates on his recent activities through a series of tweets. His posts provide insights into both his engagement with constituents and his new role within the legislative body.

On December 8, 2024, Congressman Carter expressed enthusiasm for participating in local holiday festivities. He stated, “We’re getting into the holiday spirit in true #LA02 style! It was great to ride in the annual @cityofgretna Christmas parade with Mayor Belinda Constant and other elected officials.”

The following day, December 9, 2024, he highlighted an educational encounter during a visit to Washington D.C., noting the importance of engaging with young people. He tweeted, “It was wonderful to meet with students from @BMHSCrusaders and @UrsulineNOLA as they visited our nation’s capital with @CloseUp_DC. There’s nothing better than getting a chance to talk with our future leaders.”

Later that same day, Congressman Carter announced his new leadership position within the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC). He wrote about this development: “I am honored and ready to step into my role as First Vice Chair of the @TheBlackCaucus in the 119th Congress.
