U.S. Congressman Troy A. Carter, who represents Louisiana’s 2nd district, recently used his social media platform to highlight several issues affecting his state and the nation, including airport efficiency, firearm safety for children, and local entrepreneurship.

On March 10, 2026, Carter posted about Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY), noting its repeated recognition: “Did you know that MSY has been named Best Airport in North America five years in a row? That recognition is due in large part to the incredible work of our TSA officers. But right now, because Republicans refuse to negotiate ICE funding, airport lines have been stretching out”.

Later that day, he addressed gun safety concerns in Louisiana: “Across the country and in Louisiana, firearms remain the leading cause of death for children and teens. Too often, these tragedies occur because a child gains access to a firearm that wasn’t securely stored. Today, I’m proud to announce $1,031,000 in federal funding to expand the”.

On March 11, 2026, Carter shared his experience at an event celebrating innovation: “It was an honor to attend the annual celebratory dinner hosted by @TheIdeaVillage to kick off #NationalEntrepreneurialWeek and celebrate the power of innovation and entrepreneurship in moving Louisiana forward. Carter has represented Louisiana’s 2nd district since 2021 after replacing Cedric Richmond. He previously served in both chambers of the Louisiana legislature over nearly three decades. Born in New Orleans in 1963 and a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana with a BA earned in 1986, Carter continues to reside in his hometown as he advocates on behalf of constituents on issues ranging from transportation infrastructure to public safety and economic development.
