Congressman Troy A. Carter, representing Louisiana’s 2nd district, has recently shared a series of tweets covering various topics from personal congratulations to political commentary and cultural celebrations. Carter, who succeeded Cedric Richmond in 2021, has been active in politics since the early 1990s and is known for his engagement with community issues.

On March 3, 2025, Congressman Carter extended his congratulations to Howell Crosby via Twitter. He wrote: “Congratulations to Howell Crosby, my dear friend, former @CityOfNOLA City Council colleague, and Rex 2025! Howell has dedicated years of service to the Krewe of Rex and our community, including helping to revitalize schools after Hurricane Katrina. This is a well-deserved honor.”

The following day on March 4, 2025, he expressed concern over what he described as a threat to democracy by an unelected billionaire. His tweet stated: “A real-life ‘Washington Chainsaw Massacre’ is unfolding—an unelected billionaire is taking a chainsaw to our democracy. This is no game. The stakes are too high for reckless power plays. Our institutions, our freedoms, and our future must not be sawed off to the highest bidder.”

Later that same day on March 4th, Congressman Carter embraced the spirit of Mardi Gras with a message celebrating New Orleans culture while urging safety during festivities: “Down in New Orleans, where the blues were born, it takes a cool cat to blow a horn! ‘Laissez les bon temps rouler’! Let the good times roll! Have a safe and Happy Mardi Gras 2025—be safe and look out for each other!”
