Congressman Troy A. Carter, who has represented Louisiana’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2021, recently shared several updates on social media reflecting both his community engagement and recognition of local leaders. Carter, a New Orleans native and graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana, continues to maintain an active presence within his district.

Later the same day, he extended congratulations to Dr. Tia Mills for her election to the executive committee of the National Education Association (NEA). Troy Carter succeeded Cedric Richmond in Congress in 2021 after serving previously in both chambers of the Louisiana legislature. Born in New Orleans in 1963, he continues to reside there while representing his district.
