Eli Tidwell delivered a walk-off single in the 13th inning to give the New Orleans Privateers a 10-9 victory over the McNeese Cowboys, securing a series win on Saturday at Maestri Field.

The game was marked by high scoring and dramatic moments. The Privateers took an early lead, scoring four runs in the first inning with key hits from Kruise Newman and Evan Rogers. Their advantage grew to six runs after two innings. However, McNeese mounted a comeback, tying the game at nine in the ninth inning after loading the bases and capitalizing on back-to-back walks followed by a single from Viggo Lopez.

Tidwell’s decisive hit came after Kareh Valentin reached base on an infield single that extended the bottom of the 13th with two outs. This set up Tidwell for his third hit of the day and clinched New Orleans’ first conference series win of the season.

Luke Lycette pitched effectively for New Orleans during extra innings, allowing only two baserunners and striking out five across four frames to earn his first win this year. Newman led all players with four hits including three runs batted in, while Daniel Pinkerton went five-for-seven with an RBI and two runs scored. Simon Larranaga and Connor Schneider each contributed home runs.

The contest featured a total of 35 hits between both teams, with ten players recording multi-hit games. Fans are encouraged to follow team updates through social media channels or subscribe to University of New Orleans athletics newsletters for ongoing coverage.
