Five student-athletes from the New Orleans Privateers volleyball team have been named to the Southland Conference All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office on Friday.
The honorees are Courtney Roundtree, Defne Eciroglu, Vanae Sapp, Alessandra Meoni, and Lani Alleman. This marks the first time since 2018 that New Orleans volleyball players have received this recognition.
Courtney Roundtree is a senior middle blocker with a 3.33 GPA in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. She played every set this season and recorded 236 kills. Over her career, she totaled 653 kills and 199 blocks. Roundtree had eight consecutive matches with at least 10 kills during the season.
Defne Eciroglu holds a cumulative GPA of 3.87 as a Chemistry major. The junior setter has reached the top ten in program history for career assists with 1,601 over three years. In the most recent season, she contributed 713 assists and 198 digs.
Vanae Sapp is enrolled in a Master’s program for Education and maintains a perfect 4.00 GPA. As a transfer student completing her final year in 2025, Sapp achieved 158 kills and 228 digs, including two double-doubles against Lamar and ten matches with at least ten digs.
Alessandra Meoni is also a graduate transfer working toward a Master’s degree in Mathematics with a GPA of 4.00. She led the team with 249 kills while adding 128 digs and making 49 blocks this year. Meoni posted five double-doubles, including standout performances of twenty kills against Nicholls and twenty-five digs versus East Texas A&M.
Lani Alleman has earned a GPA of 3.60 as a Psychology major. The junior libero collected 151 digs this season and ranks among the top fifteen in program history for career digs per set at an average of 2.34 over three seasons, totaling 658 digs across her collegiate career.
