The Tulane swimming and diving program had four student-athletes recognized as members of the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Division I Swimming & Diving Team, according to an April 7 announcement from the organization.
This recognition was awarded to sophomore Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou, senior Olcaytu Hatipoglu, sophomore Phoebe Johnson, and senior Andrea Zeebe. For Petropoulou, Hatipoglu, and Johnson, this is their first time receiving the honor. Zeebe was previously selected last season. The program has now earned eight CSC Academic All-District selections over the past two years.
Tulane is one of eight programs in its league with multiple honorees this season and one of only three Division I swimming and diving institutions in Louisiana—alongside LSU and Southern—to have student-athletes selected for this distinction.
To qualify for the CSC Academic All-District Team, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50, be at least sophomores academically, and have participated in a minimum of five regular-season competitions or placed among the top eight at conference championships. The College Sports Communicators recognize top student-athletes nationally for achievements both athletically and academically across four divisions: NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA.
The four honorees will now advance to consideration for CSC Academic All-America status. First- and second-team selections are expected to be announced later in April.
In recent competition results mentioned by Tulane Athletics, the program finished fifth overall at the 2026 American Conference Swimming Championships with 905.50 points. Notable performances included Lise Coetzee winning the 200 free event while placing second in another race; Petropoulou finishing as runner-up in her event; Eliza Lennox earning third place; a relay team placing third; diver Libby Brewer being named Freshman Diver of the Year; and eleven athletes qualifying for national invitational championships.
