Tulane baseball pitcher Jack Frankel has been named to the 2026 National Pitcher of the Year Watch List, according to a March 11 announcement from the College Baseball Foundation.
Frankel, who currently holds a record of 1-0 with a 3.54 earned run average in four starts this season, has thrown 20.1 innings and recorded ten strikeouts while limiting opposing batters to a .267 average. He was also recognized on February 23 by being named to the American Conference Weekly Honor Roll.
The National Pitcher of the Year Award, first presented in 2009, recognizes outstanding collegiate pitchers each season. Past recipients include Stephen Strasburg (San Diego State), Trevor Bauer (UCLA), Aaron Nola (LSU), and most recently Jake Knapp (North Carolina) in 2025.
In addition to the Pitcher of the Year Award, the College Baseball Foundation presents several other honors such as the Brooks Wallace Award, John Olerud Award, and Buster Posey Collegiate Catcher of the Week. More information about these awards can be found at www.collegebaseballhall.org.
Tulane is scheduled to return home for a series against Creighton University from March 13-16 at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
