Tulane University’s women’s basketball team secured a 69-54 win over Memphis on Thursday night at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The victory marked Tulane’s second consecutive win against Memphis this week, giving them a season sweep of the Tigers. With this result, Tulane improved its record to 10-16 overall and 5-9 in American Athletic Conference play, while Memphis dropped to 8-18 overall and 2-11 in conference games.

Freshman Shiloh Kimpson made her first career start for Tulane and delivered a standout performance with 12 points, six rebounds, and 10 assists—setting new personal bests in all three categories. Her contributions helped Tulane maintain control throughout the game.

Tulane shot 42.1 percent from the field compared to Memphis’ 37.9 percent. The Green Wave made five three-pointers while limiting Memphis to two. Although Memphis held a rebounding advantage (40-34), Tulane capitalized on turnovers by forcing 19 and converting them into 25 points, whereas Memphis managed only 10 points off turnovers.

Defensively, Tulane limited Memphis to just 27.6 percent shooting in the first half and no successful three-point attempts before halftime. Offensively, Tulane shot an even 50 percent during the opening half.

Four players reached double figures for Tulane: Mecailin Marshall led with 15 points; Kimpson followed with her career-high effort; CC Mays and Amira Mabry each added 11 points. Mays also contributed four steals, three rebounds, and two assists, while Mabry collected five rebounds and two steals. Mabry’s scoring moved her up to 29th place on Tulane’s all-time scoring list with a career total of 1,041 points.

Dyllan Hanna led the team with 12 rebounds—just one shy of her own career high—and Mabry recorded the only block for Tulane during the game.

The contest saw early momentum shifts as Memphis took an initial lead before Tulane responded with a decisive run that set the tone for much of the match.

Tulane will next face Tulsa on Tuesday, February 24 at 6:30 p.m., with coverage available via ESPN+ as well as local radio broadcasts WRBH 88.3 FM and through the Varsity Network App.
