Tulane freshman diver Libby Brewer will compete in the 1-meter event at the 2026 NCAA Zone D Diving Championships on Monday, March 9, at Texas A&M University’s Student Recreations Natatorium.
Brewer qualified for the championship after achieving a score of 278.70 during a dual meet against Rice in November. She has been recognized as the American Conference Freshman Diver of the Week five times and was named Freshman Diver of the Year by the conference following February’s championship meet. Brewer is among 59 divers who qualified for Zone D this season, including six from the American Athletic Conference.
She will be competing for one of eleven qualifying spots available in the 1-meter event within Zone D. Across all five zones (A-E), a total of forty-one divers will advance to the NCAA Championships, which are scheduled for March 18-21 at Georgia Tech’s McAuley Aquatics Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
The preliminary round for the 1-meter event is set to begin at noon and continue until 3 p.m., with finals taking place from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. that same afternoon.
At their most recent competition, Tulane finished fifth overall at the American Conference Swimming Championships with a total of 905.50 points. The team earned an event victory and had five medal winners, including Lise Coetzee who won the 200 freestyle and placed second in the 500 freestyle, Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou who was runner-up in the 200 butterfly, Eliza Lennox who took third in the 100 freestyle, and a third-place finish by Coetzee, Andrea Zeebe, Phoebe Johnson, and Rafaela Sumida in the 800 relay. Brewer was also named league Freshman Diver of the Year.
Looking ahead, Tulane swimmers who have qualified will participate in the National Invitational Championship from March 12-14 at FAST Facility in Ocala, Florida.
