NEW ORLEANS — Mayor LaToya Cantrell today issued the following statement on the passing of Kerry “Fatman” Hunter: 

“The City of New Orleans recognizes the remembrance of the celebration of life ceremony for Kerry “Fatman” Hunter, a renowned musician and member of the Grammy award winning New Orleans Nightcrawlers Brass Band,” said Mayor LaToya Cantrell. 

“We also recognize Mr. Hunter’s many contributions to the community and our city’s culture that gives his legacy a distinguished place of honor in the city’s Black History Month recognitions. Mr. Hunter’s impact on this city’s culture will resonate globally. My heartfelt sympathies are extended to his family and loved ones. May the legacy, love, and life of Mr. Hunter endure in God’s eternal peace.”
