Tulane University’s Mia Stolakis was named to the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA) All-America First Team, according to an announcement on Apr. 16 at the annual Night of Champions banquet in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
This recognition is significant as it marks only the third time a Tulane bowler has received NCBCA All-America honors. Previously, Madison McCall earned honorable mention and second team awards in consecutive seasons during 2020-21 and 2021-22. Stolakis also made history by becoming the first Tulane bowler to be selected for the NCBCA All-America First Team.
Stolakis, a senior from Worcester, Massachusetts, leads her team with 482 strikes this season and ranks 24th nationally in player composite performance index with an 88.067 percent mark. She recently earned a spot on the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-America Third Team—her second major accolade this year—and became the first Tulane athlete to receive higher than honorable mention status from NTCA.
In addition to her national honors, Stolakis was recognized twice as part of all-tournament teams during this campaign and served as MVP at Tulane’s Colonial Lanes Classic. She is noted as being both the only Tulane bowler with two career MVP honors and the only one to win their annual tournament.
Stolakis and her teammates are competing today at The Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley in Green Bay as part of the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships—the final event of their season—which also serves as a send-off for Stolakis’s collegiate career.
