Alex Sumler, a former standout at McDonogh #35 Senior High School and current player for the Lamar Cardinals, will take part in the NCAA Division I FCS Football Championship.

The Lamar Cardinals enter the tournament as the No. 10 seed and will face the No. 10 seeded Abilene Christian Wildcats in their opening game.

The first matchup is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 29, at 12 p.m.
