On March 6, 2026, the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) responded to a two-alarm fire in the Lakeview neighborhood. The incident occurred at 301 30th St., where an unoccupied two-story single-family home was found with heavy fire at the rear of the structure. Flames were also threatening a neighboring occupied residence.

The initial call was received and units dispatched at 12:23 a.m., with firefighters arriving on scene five minutes later. As conditions worsened and the fire began to consume most of the second floor, a second alarm was requested at 12:54 a.m. The neighboring house suffered moderate damage to its right exterior wall but remains inhabitable.

Eighteen NOFD units and forty-nine fire operations personnel worked to control the blaze, bringing it under control by 1:33 a.m. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
