New Orleans Police seek public help in purse snatching investigation

The New Orleans Police Department asked for the public’s help on March 12 in identifying and locating a suspect wanted for a purse snatching incident. The event took place at approximately 11:52 p.m. on March 3 in the 1100 block of North Rampart Street.

Police said the suspect, described as a Black male riding a blue or purple bicycle, is accused of committing a purse snatching that resulted in injuries to an elderly victim. Authorities have released an image of the suspect to aid in identification efforts.

All individuals involved are presumed innocent until proven guilty, police said.

The department urged anyone with information about the case to contact NOPD First District detectives at 504-658-6010.
