New Orleans Police seek public help to locate theft suspect

The New Orleans Police Department announced on Apr. 8 that it is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted for theft.

Police are searching for Krista Marie Smith, described as a Black female with a date of birth of June 27, 1986. Investigators said that around 1:00 a.m. on January 24, in the 300 block of Bourbon Street, Smith allegedly stole a victim’s cellular phone. The device was later used to access the victim’s accounts.

Authorities remind the public that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
