The New Orleans Privateers beach volleyball team is set to begin its spring season at the Green Wave Invitational, which will be held at White Sands Courts in Elmwood. The tournament is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, with the Privateers facing four different teams.

On the first day of competition, New Orleans will play against South Florida and Spring Hill. Saturday’s matches will be against Tulane and Oregon. Tulane enters the event ranked in the preseason AVCA poll, while both South Florida and Oregon received votes in the most recent poll released on February 17.

Head Coach Ryan Havice returns for his second year leading the program. This season, he welcomes 11 new players to the roster. Among them are senior twin sisters Ellie and Cassie Sieling, who transferred from Concordia-St. Paul after competing in indoor volleyball last fall. Ellie recorded 329 kills (2.67 per set) during her previous season, while Cassie contributed 556 digs (4.34 per set).

Another addition to the team is Lucianna Alexander, a transfer from Arizona State. Before joining Arizona State, Alexander finished on the podium 20 times at National Qualifiers and reached two semifinals in high school state championships.

During their fall schedule, the Privateers participated in three tournaments and faced opponents including South Florida and Tulane. At the Coconut Beach Fall Tournament, Alexander teamed up with Ashley Salazar for a win over a USF pair.
