The New Orleans Privateers women’s beach volleyball team finished with two wins and two losses at the Battle on the Bayou tournament, according to an April 11 announcement. The event took place over two days at LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium in Baton Rouge.
The weekend saw strong performances from several pairs. On day one, Cassie and Ellie Sieling secured a win against Texas A&M-Kingsville by rallying in extra points during the second set before clinching the third set for their sixth consecutive victory. Brooke Dow and Ashley Salazar also won a three-set match, while Jordan Madsen and Lindsey Neal contributed a straight-sets win.
Later that day, New Orleans narrowly missed extending its winning streak when they fell to Southeastern. Despite Dow and Salazar picking up another victory, Southeastern claimed enough matches to secure their overall win. The Sieling sisters closed out day one with another three-set triumph.
On day two, Central Arkansas defeated New Orleans 4-1, with Cassie and Ellie Sieling earning the team’s only point after winning in straight sets. Central Arkansas won crucial matches in flights two and three by taking decisive third sets.
The Privateers ended their tournament on a high note by beating Spring Hill 4-1. Malia Kampfe and Molly Perry staged a comeback at flight five to give New Orleans an early lead. Lucianna Alexander and Renata Dykstra followed with a close three-set win, while the Sieling sisters dominated their match for an eleventh straight victory—marking the program’s longest streak since 2022. Dow and Salazar wrapped up their weekend record at 3-1 together this season.
Looking ahead, New Orleans will participate in the NOLA Classic next Friday and Saturday at White Sands.
