The New Orleans Privateers beach volleyball team will participate in their second-to-last regular season tournament this weekend, facing four teams at the LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium in Baton Rouge, according to an April 9 announcement.

This event is significant as it provides the Privateers with a final opportunity to prepare for the upcoming Southland Tournament. The team will play Texas A&M-Kingsville and Southeastern on Friday at 1 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., respectively. On Saturday, they are scheduled to compete against Central Arkansas at 11:45 a.m. and Spring Hill at 1:45 p.m.

The Privateers currently hold a record of nine wins and eleven losses but have built momentum with five consecutive victories. Last weekend, they defeated Mobile twice at home, dropping only one point throughout both matches. Cassie and Ellie Sieling lead the team with a seven-match winning streak and an overall record of fourteen wins and five losses while playing at flight one. Lucianna Alexander and Renata Dykstra have also achieved five straight wins as a pair in flight three, bringing their tandem record to eight wins and four losses.

New Orleans has previously faced three of their upcoming opponents this season. They lost narrowly to Spring Hill during the opening weekend but secured close victories over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Southeastern earlier in conference play.

Looking ahead, the Privateers are seeded fifth for the Southland Tournament where they will face HCU in the opening round at Water’s Edge Park in Corpus Christi, Texas. Their last competition before the conference tournament will be next weekend’s NOLA Classic held locally at White Sands.
