The New Orleans Privateers men’s baseball team defeated the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils 14-0 on Mar. 10 at Maestri Field, with Rex Henderson leading the pitching staff through four scoreless innings.

The game began as a close contest, but the Privateers’ offense surged in the sixth inning. The team held a narrow 1-0 lead before scoring six runs, highlighted by home runs from Owen Smith and Jayden Adcox. Smith led off the inning with a homer to left field, while Adcox followed later with his first home run of the season, driving in three runs.

The offensive momentum continued into the seventh and eighth innings. Kareh Valentin contributed a sacrifice fly that advanced runners and scored a run, followed by Collin Loupe’s two-run single to right-center. In the eighth inning, Adcox hit a double that brought in two more runs, while Dathan Cummings and Loupe each added RBI singles.

Henderson pitched four innings, allowing only two hits and one walk while striking out two batters. Relievers Gus Rogers, Brock Hill, Luke Hymel, Myles Green, and Skylar Jones combined to complete the shutout. The pitching staff recorded 11 strikeouts overall—a new season high for the team.

Smith finished with three hits, two RBI, and two runs scored. Adcox had three hits and four RBI on the night. Other notable performances included Eli Tidwell going 2-for-3 with a run scored; Loupe coming off the bench for two hits and three RBI; and Cummings contributing two RBI and scoring twice.
