The University of New Orleans men’s golf team will compete as the No. 5 seed at the Southland Conference Championship, set to begin Monday at Comanche Trace in Kerrville, Texas, according to an April 19 announcement.

This tournament is significant for the Privateers as they look to improve on last year’s tenth-place finish and build on a season where they posted a winning record against conference opponents for the fifth consecutive year. The team is currently ranked No. 252 nationally by Clippd’ Scoreboard, while top-seeded Lamar holds a ranking of No. 160.

Throughout the regular season, New Orleans recorded a 44-64-3 overall record and averaged just over 293 strokes per round. The squad has shot under 894 in nine out of ten tournaments this year and achieved its best round with a score of 277. In recent years at the Southland Championships, UNO finished third in both 2022 and 2024 and was runner-up in 2023.

Individually, Tom Watson led the Privateers with an average score of 72.63 over thirty rounds this season. Watson also tallied eleven rounds under par and posted a low three-round total of 208; he recently tied for third place at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate with scores of 65, 67, and 76—the best individual finish by any Privateer this season.

The lineup for New Orleans includes Matthew Lotz (73.3 avg.), Max Feistmantl (74.1), Tom Watson (72.6), Adam Trahan (76), and Garrett Trahan (77.3). Taylor Boasberg will serve as alternate after making two starts earlier this year.
