The New Orleans Privateers men’s and women’s tennis teams are set to face Alcorn State on Thursday at noon. Both teams are aiming to maintain their unbeaten records, with the men at 5-0 and the women at 4-0 so far this season.

The women’s team recently defeated Jackson State 4-1, continuing their streak of securing the doubles point in every match this year. The doubles pairs have achieved a combined record of 10 wins and two losses. Kateryna Kalistratova and Nouray Khaled returned to the top doubles position for the second time this season, winning their match 7-5. They remain undefeated in both flights one and two.

In singles play, the women’s team has recorded 18 wins and four losses overall. Kalistratova and Fleur Sprengers have been key players in the top positions, earning eight combined victories between them. Khaled is also undefeated in three completed matches at flight three.

For the men’s team, singles performance has been strong with a combined record of 26 wins and two losses across five matches. Four players—Gonzalo Cotter, Beltran Fernandez, Carlos Melgosa, and Jacob Rouleau-Mailly—remain unbeaten this season.

In their last outing against Jackson State, the men’s team overcame a loss in doubles by winning all completed singles matches. The top two singles matches were unfinished but had Rouleau-Mailly leading by a set and Fernandez ahead by a service break in the third set.

Historically, the Privateer men have won their last 14 encounters with Alcorn State since 2009. The women have secured victory in their last ten meetings dating back to 2011.
