The New Orleans Privateers women’s beach volleyball team will host the Mobile Rams for two matches at the Privateer Beach Courts on Friday, April 2. The first match is set for 11 a.m., with the second following at 1 p.m.

This event follows the Privateers’ recent victories over Nicholls in Thibodaux, where they won both matches with scores of 4-1 and 3-2. These wins improved their season record to 7-11. Two pairs from New Orleans won both of their weekend matches.

Cassie and Ellie Sieling performed strongly at flight one, winning all four sets and keeping their opponents to single-digit points in three out of four sets. Their record as a pair now stands at 12-5 this season. At flight three, Lucianna Alexander and Renata Dykstra remained undefeated as a pair, including a decisive third set win (15-6) in one match and straight-set victory (21-16, 21-17) in another.

Ashley Salazar and Brooke Dow also reached double figures in wins together after rallying from a set down against Nicholls to secure their tenth win of the season. This achievement makes them the second pair on the team to reach ten or more wins this year.

The upcoming doubleheader marks only the second meeting between New Orleans and Mobile; New Orleans previously defeated Mobile by a score of 3-2 in their lone encounter last year. The Rams enter Friday’s games with an overall record of 13-7 and are currently 9-3 in conference play. These will be Mobile’s final matches before participating in the Sun Conference Tournament.
