The New Orleans Privateers baseball team will travel to Jackson, Mississippi for a game against the Jackson State Tigers on March 23 at Bob Braddy Field, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.

This matchup follows a weekend series where the Privateers went 1-2 against Northwestern State. In their most recent contest, New Orleans nearly erased a six-run deficit but ultimately lost the series finale 6-5 after leaving the tying run on base in the ninth inning.

Dylan Biddick has been a standout performer for New Orleans, hitting .474 over five games last week against Tulane, ULM and Northwestern State. He drove in six runs during that stretch and accounted for all three RBI in the team’s series-opening win over Northwestern State. Biddick is currently among the top three players in his league for doubles, on-base percentage and batting average as of this week. He also ranks sixth in slugging percentage within the conference.

As a team, New Orleans maintains its position as one of the best hitting squads in its league with a .289 batting average and ranks fourth with 43 doubles entering this week’s action. The Privateers previously defeated Jackson State earlier this season by an 11-6 score at Maestri Field on March 3. Kruise Newman hit a grand slam during that game while Jayden Adcox scored three runs and Luke Hymel pitched more than two scoreless innings to secure the win. Overall, New Orleans has won five of its last seven meetings with Jackson State since 2023.

Jackson State enters Tuesday’s contest with a record of 12-13 after winning their recent series against Prairie View by taking two out of three games—including Sunday’s decisive victory by an eleven-run margin. The Tigers are hitting .300 as a team so far this season; Tyree Reed leads individual hitters at .395 while Pierre Cabral tops his squad with five home runs and twenty-six runs batted in.
