The New Orleans Privateers women’s tennis team lost 4-0 to the Tulane Green Wave on March 19 at the Goldring Tennis Center. The Privateers played with only five singles players, resulting in a default loss at flight six.

This match is significant as it marks Tulane’s fifteenth consecutive win against the Privateers, highlighting an ongoing challenge for New Orleans in this local rivalry.

Tulane secured the doubles point by winning both matches at flight one and two, dropping just three games combined. Summer Chandler and Campbell Ricci won their doubles match 6-2, while Micah Pierce and Delanie Tribby took theirs 6-1. In singles play, Chandler also won her match at flight two with a score of 6-1, 6-1. Natalia Fantini clinched the overall victory for Tulane by winning her match at flight four, 6-1, 6-3.

Ananya Dhankhar was leading her second set for the Privateers at flight five when play concluded. Tulane held leads in the remaining unfinished matches at flights one and three.

Looking ahead, the Privateers will continue conference play on Saturday against Lamar at 11 a.m.
