The New Orleans Privateers women’s tennis team will face three opponents over the next five days, beginning with a home match against Southeastern on Saturday at 2 p.m., followed by McNeese at 11 a.m. on Monday, and then an away match at Southern Miss next Wednesday at 2 p.m.

This stretch of matches comes after the Privateers’ narrow 4-3 defeat to UIW in their most recent contest. In that match, New Orleans secured the doubles point but ultimately lost after UIW took an early lead in the third set of the deciding singles match.

Fleur Sprengers has continued her strong performance this season, now holding an 11-1 record in singles following her win against Estefania Gonzalez of UIW. This marks the best single-season record for a Privateer since Lina Hohnhold’s 12-1 mark during the 2020-21 season.

Kateryna Kalistratova has maintained success in three-set matches, winning all four such contests this year and nine out of her last ten dating back to spring 2025. Kalistratova holds a current singles record of 9-2 and is also performing well in doubles with a record of 7-5.

Ananya Dhankhar currently stands at a 6-5 singles record for the year and is even against Southland Conference opponents with two wins and two losses. Dhankhar has also recorded three-set victories over players from Northwestern State and Lamar.

Historically, New Orleans holds a slight edge over Southeastern since 2016 with seven wins to four losses; however, Southeastern has won four out of their last five meetings. McNeese enters this weekend’s competition boasting a strong overall record of fourteen wins and one loss. The Privateers previously defeated Southern Miss by a score of four to two in February last year.
