The New Orleans Privateers women’s basketball team will finish their 2025-26 season with an away game against the Northwestern State Lady Demons at Prather Coliseum. The match is set for Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

In their most recent game, the Privateers were defeated by McNeese in what was their last home game of the season. Lauren Banks scored 20 points for the second straight contest and recently recorded her first double-double as a Privateer during last Thursday’s game against Southeastern.

Brialle Washington has led New Orleans in scoring throughout both the overall season and conference games. She averages 11.2 points per game and has reached double digits in scoring 12 times against Southland opponents, including a career-high 26 points versus UTRGV.

Shanihya Brown ranks among the top five players in the conference for assists and steals. Heading into the final regular season matchup, Brown is fourth in assists and second in steals. She surpassed 100 assists this season, becoming only the second Privateer since 2007 to reach that number in a single campaign.

Banks is among a dozen Southland players who have attempted at least 100 free throws this year. She also stands sixth in the conference for free throw percentage, making 76.9 percent of her attempts.

New Orleans lost to Northwestern State earlier this season at Lakefront Arena, with Brown scoring 16 points and Mariah Hart adding 10 points.

Northwestern State holds a record of 13-8 in league play, earning them the fifth seed for the upcoming Southland Tournament. They recently limited Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to just 35 points during a decisive win on Saturday.

Vernell Atamah leads all league scorers with an average of 18.9 points per game, followed by Jalayah Ingram at 16.5 points per game.
