The New Orleans Police Department announced on Apr. 27 that it is continuing efforts to strengthen internal controls and improve financial oversight as part of ongoing modernization initiatives.
These actions are intended to ensure that department systems align with current roles, responsibilities, and best practices. The police department said it is reviewing its internal processes and coordinating with ADP to review and update user access within the system. This includes resetting permissions so that access remains appropriate, current, and consistent with each employee’s role.
According to the department, these steps are part of a broader effort to increase accountability, improve efficiency, and make sure systems support the standards expected of NOPD. The statement also notes that overall overtime across the city has decreased by 44 percent, with NOPD accounting for about 61 percent of this reduction.
The department said this work aligns with Mayor Helena Moreno’s administration’s focus on accountability, transparency, and strong financial oversight.
NOPD stated it will continue evaluating and strengthening its internal processes in order to support long-term accountability and better serve the public.
