The New Orleans Police Department’s Traffic Division has announced plans to conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Orleans Parish. The operation is scheduled to take place from 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026, until 5:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Officials stated that motorists passing through the checkpoint should expect minimal delays. Drivers are advised to have necessary documents such as proof of insurance and their driver’s license available if requested.

According to NOPD, these measures are part of ongoing efforts to ensure road safety during late-night hours.
