NOPD seeks person of interest in sexual battery investigation on Josephine Street

The New Orleans Police Department announced on Apr. 13 that it is seeking a person of interest for questioning in connection with a reported sexual battery that occurred on March 10 at approximately 1:31 p.m. in the 2800 block of Josephine Street.

Police said the victim reported being sexually battered by an unknown Black male at the location. Detectives have since identified an individual who was present during the incident and are looking to speak with this person for further information.

Authorities clarified that this individual is not currently wanted for any offense but may have important information relevant to the ongoing investigation.

The case remains open as detectives continue their efforts to gather more details. The police are asking anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of this individual to contact NOPD Sex Crimes detectives at 504-658-5523.
