NOPD seeks public help to locate persons of interest in homicide investigation

The New Orleans Police Department asked for the public’s help on Mar. 19 in locating three persons of interest connected to a homicide investigation.

Police identified the individuals as Derreck Bennett, Demonde Bennett, and Larry Bennett. Investigators said the case involves a shooting that took place on July 23, 2025, in the 4600 block of Flake Street. Authorities believe these individuals may have information important to the ongoing investigation.

According to police, none of the three are currently wanted for this crime but are being sought for questioning due to their possible knowledge about the incident. The department emphasized that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
