The New Orleans Privateers lost to the Northwestern State Demons 6-2 on Saturday afternoon at Brown-Stroud Field, according to a March 21 report. The defeat evens the weekend baseball series between the two teams.

The game saw New Orleans take an early lead in the first inning when Eli Tidwell scored on a wild pitch by Dylan Marionneaux. However, Northwestern State responded in the third inning with two-out RBI singles from Ethan Menard and Thomas Marsala, giving them a 2-1 advantage.

Northwestern State extended their lead in the fifth inning after loading the bases with two walks and a bunt single. Menard hit a double that drove in two runs, helping push the Demons ahead 5-1. Miles Curley answered for New Orleans by hitting a solo home run on the first pitch of the sixth inning, but it was not enough to close the gap.

Marionneaux pitched his second consecutive complete game against New Orleans, allowing only two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out six batters. Menard led Northwestern State offensively, going 3-for-5 and driving in four of their six runs. Sam Ardoin contributed with two hits, including a double and scoring twice.

For New Orleans, Dylan Biddick had three hits including a double, while Curley finished with two hits and Goff struck out five batters. Jack Garvey pitched 3.2 innings in relief, allowing just one hit and one run.

The series will conclude with a final game scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m.
