The University of New Orleans Privateers announced on May 9 that their regular season finale against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has been postponed to a 6 p.m. start because of ongoing rain in the area.

The change in schedule means the game will not be broadcast on 106.7 FM The Ticket, but live audio coverage will be available on unoprivateers.com, according to the announcement.

The Privateers are seeking a win and need Houston Christian University (HCU) to lose twice against Lamar in order to qualify for the Southland tournament, which is set to begin next Thursday. If they secure a spot, they could play either in Hammond against Southeastern or travel to Beaumont for a matchup with Lamar.

Lamar requires two wins and two Southeastern losses this weekend to move ahead in the standings. The Cardinals are scheduled for a doubleheader on Saturday versus HCU, while Southeastern faces Nicholls today and plays again Sunday.

“Stay tuned for any further schedule updates,” said university officials in their statement.
