The New Orleans Privateers will end their regular season at Maestri Field with a home series against the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders, beginning Thursday, May 6. The opening game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., and all games will be broadcast on ESPN+, with the final two also airing on 106.7 FM The Ticket.

Before Saturday’s game, the Privateers will honor 19 seniors for their contributions to the baseball program during Senior Day festivities. This event highlights the importance of recognizing athletes who have played key roles in shaping the team’s recent seasons.

The pitching matchups for the series are set: Luke Lycette will start Thursday for New Orleans against Matthew Molina; Riley Marcotte faces Connor Schlect on Friday; and Bryson Goff takes on Preston Watkins in Saturday’s finale. The Privateers come into this matchup after a ten-inning victory over Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, where Lane Alack secured his fourth save of the year and New Orleans scored six runs in the last three innings.

Recent performances include seven hit-by-pitches in Tuesday’s game—New Orleans’ highest total this season—and ten walks drawn by batters, marking their third double-digit walk game of 2026. Pitcher Luke Hymel delivered three shutout innings without allowing a hit, his second longest scoreless outing this year.

Evan Rogers has been consistent at bat, maintaining a .313 average overall and hitting above .300 against both left- and right-handed pitchers. Over his last nine games, he is batting .354 in 31 at-bats. Historically, New Orleans holds an 18-15 record over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, with each team having completed two series sweeps since 2014.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi enters the weekend one game ahead of New Orleans and one behind HCU for a spot in the Southland tournament. Cade Sanchez leads their offense with a .360 batting average while Christian Smith-Johnson is among three players in conference play to reach at least twenty stolen bases this season.
