The New Orleans Privateers women’s tennis team’s final non-conference match was canceled due to rain on April 1. The team had traveled to the Southern Miss Tennis Courts for a scheduled contest against the Golden Eagles, but weather conditions prevented play.

This cancellation marks a disruption in the Privateers’ schedule as they sought one last tune-up before their upcoming matches. The persistent rain delayed the original 2 p.m. start time, and after waiting for courts to dry, another round of showers ultimately led to the decision to call off the match.

With this setback, the Privateers (8-7) will now prepare for their next competitions in South Texas. They are set to face UTRGV on Saturday and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Monday.

The impact of weather-related cancellations highlights how external factors can affect collegiate sports schedules and preparations.
