Host South Alabama secured a 4-1 win over Tulane in a women’s tennis match held Saturday afternoon in Mobile, Alabama. The Jaguars remain undefeated this season, moving to an 8-0 record, while the Green Wave’s record stands at 6-6.

The doubles competition saw both teams claim victories in the top two matches. Tulane’s Campbell Ricci and Summer Chandler earned a decisive 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles. However, South Alabama responded by winning the No. 2 match and clinching the point with a tiebreaker victory at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Campbell Ricci provided Tulane’s only point of the day with a straight-set win (7-5, 6-2) at No. 1 singles. Natalia Fantini was close to adding another point for Tulane at No. 5 but her match was left unfinished as she led Jade Marie 7-5, 5-4 when play concluded. At No. 3 singles, Natalia Perez split sets with Cristina Tchanichev before their match was also left unfinished.

South Alabama took singles victories at positions two, four and six to secure the overall team win.

Tulane will return to action next Saturday with an away match against North Texas, which currently holds a record of 7-4. The contest is scheduled to begin at noon.
