About 27.3 percent of the 3,704 degrees and certificates handed out by Delgado Community College in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Orleans conferred 718 certificates and 293 associate's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in general studies. Data shows the school gave out 565 certificates in general studies, followed by 317 associate's degrees in general studies and 240 certificates in "other" health aides/attendants/orderlies.

The college enrolled 14,258 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
