57 percent of applicants to the University of New Orleans were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of New Orleans, 74 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 50 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in New Orleans enrolled 8,151 students in fall 2018, including 6,588 in undergraduate and 1,563 in graduate programs, data shows. 9.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

91 percent of undergraduates are residents of Louisiana, and 7 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (50 percent) and Black or African American (18 percent).

The school admitted 57 percent of the 4,715 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 38 percent enrolled.
