NOPD Arrests Suspects in Third District Theft

The NOPD has arrested two subjects wanted in connection with a theft investigation in the Third District.

On July 4, 2023, officers were called to a business in the 2100 block of Agriculture Street in reference to a theft. The owner had noticed various things missing over a period of time, including a wheelbarrow.

The victim had actually spotted his wheelbarrow nearby and led officers to the scene.  There, they recovered several items belonging to the victim.

Through investigation, detectives identified Frank Ames (White male, DOB: 8-15-1968) and James Cheek (White male, DOB: 6-21-1985) as the perpetrators in this incident.

Both have been arrested and charged with theft.
