NOPD To Host First Citizens Police Academy of 2024

New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick is  encouraging citizens to participate in the first NOPD Citizens Police Academy of 2024!

The Classes will begin on March 2, 2024 and will continue through April 13,2024.

The NOPD Citizens Police Academy is an interactive learning experience that provides participants with an insiders’ perspective on the NOPD and the criminal justice system, in a fun and interactive setting that includes virtual training.

Participants will learn about community policing, patrol duties, new technology the NOPD is utilizing, specialized divisions and more.

The 7-week class will be held at various NOPD facilities on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and will offer many hands-on experiences.

Interested citizens should fill out an application as soon as possible as the deadline is February 16, 2024 and space is limited.
